Introduction to Internet: -

The internet is a vast global network of computers and other devices connected together through communication networks.

It allows people to communicate, share information and resources, and access a vast amount of information from anywhere in the world.

The internet was created in the late 1960s and has since grown to become an essential part of modern society, impacting virtually every aspect of daily life, including commerce, education, entertainment, and much more.

The internet is a global network of interconnected computers and computer networks that communicate using standardized communication protocols.

It allows for the exchange of information, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia, between connected devices anywhere in the world.

The internet has transformed the way we communicate, work, access information, and entertain ourselves, and has become an essential part of modern society.

It is often referred to as the "World Wide Web" because of the vast web of information and resources that are available to users through the internet.

1.      The internet is a global network of interconnected devices: This includes computers, smartphones, servers, and other types of hardware that are connected together.

2.      Communication protocols: The internet operates on standardized communication protocols, such as the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), that allow devices to exchange information with one another.

 3.     Information exchange: The internet enables the exchange of information, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia, between connected devices anywhere in the world.

4.      The World Wide Web: The internet is often referred to as the "World Wide Web" because of the vast web of information and resources that are available to users through the internet. This includes websites, email, social media, and other online services.

5.      Impact on society: The internet has transformed the way we communicate, work, access information, and entertain ourselves. It has become an essential part of modern society and has had a profound impact on the way we live our lives.

WWW (World Wide Web): -

The World Wide Web (WWW or Web) is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet.

It was created in 1989 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist, while working at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.

The Web was designed to be a way for people to share information over the Internet and make it accessible from anywhere in the world.

The Web is based on three key technologies: HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), which is used to create the content of web pages; HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), which is used to transfer data over the Internet; and URLs (Uniform Resource Locators), which are used to identify and locate specific resources on the Web.

Today, the Web is used for a wide range of purposes, including communication, entertainment, commerce, education, and information dissemination.

It has transformed the way we live, work, and interact with each other, and it continues to evolve and expand as new technologies emerge.

Website and it’s working: -

A website is a collection of interconnected web pages that are accessible on the internet.

Websites are used to share information, sell products, provide services, or simply share personal interests.

Websites are used for a variety of purposes, including providing information, selling products and services, sharing personal interests, and more.

Websites are created using a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and are hosted on a web server.

To visit a website, you need a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari, which allows you to navigate to the website by entering its URL (Uniform Resource Locator) into the address bar.

The web browser then sends a request to the web server to access the website, and the server sends back the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files that make up the website's pages.

The web browser then renders these files and displays the website to the user.

Websites can be simple or complex, containing text, images, videos, audio, and other multimedia content.

There are several types of websites including: -

 1.     Informational websites: These are websites that provide information on a specific topic, such as news websites, educational websites, and reference websites.

2.      E-commerce websites: These are websites that allow users to buy and sell products or services online, such as Amazon and eBay.

3.      Blogs: These are websites that feature regularly updated content, such as personal blogs or company blogs.

4.      Social media websites: These are websites that allow users to connect and share content with each other, such as Facebook and Twitter.

5.      Portfolio websites: These are websites that showcase an individual or organization's work or accomplishments, often used by artists, photographers, and designers.

6.      Government websites: These are websites that provide information and services from government agencies, such as the official website of the White House.

7.      News websites: These are websites that provide up-to-date news on various topics, such as CNN and BBC News.

8.      Business websites: These are websites that represent a company or organization, and may include information about products, services, and contact details.

The working of a website involves several key components:

1.      Domain name: A domain name is a human-readable text that represents the IP address of a website. When you type a domain name into your web browser, it converts the name into an IP address and then finds the corresponding website.

2.      Web server: A web server is a computer system that stores the website's files and makes them available to the Internet. When a user requests a web page, the web server sends the necessary files to the user's web browser, which then renders the page on the user's screen.

3.      HTML: HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is the standard language used to create web pages. HTML files contain the text, images, and other content of a web page, along with special tags that indicate how the content should be displayed in a web browser.

4.      CSS: CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is a language used to style the look and layout of web pages. CSS files contain instructions on how the content of a web page should be displayed, such as font size, colour, and placement of elements on the page.

5.      JavaScript: JavaScript is a programming language that can be used to add interactivity` and dynamic behaviour to web pages. For example, a JavaScript script might be used to validate a form before it is submitted, or to create a slideshow of images.

6.      Database: Many websites use databases to store information such as user accounts, product information, or other types of data. The website's web server can retrieve the necessary information from the database and generate the web pages on-the-fly based on user requests.
